COURSE A17: 3Æ VARIABLE FREQUENCY TRANSISTORISED INVERTER CONTROLLER
USES
AC power control applications using MOSFET, BJT or IGBT bridges to generate AC from DC as in:-
1. Uninterrupted Power Supplies(UPS)
2. AC motor control
3. X-ray machines
4. Electric furnaces
5. Metal processing lines
6. Welding machines
PREREQUISITES
Knowledge of power electronics related to IGBT / MOSFET Inverters
Course-A10- Design of Variable Frequency PWM Sine Wave generator
Course-A1. Introduction to VHDL and VLSI design (I)
CONTENTS
1. Frequency divider for internal timing and control.
2. Bus interfacing logic for 8 and 16 bit CPUs for loading frequency and control data.
3. Generating three Phase Potential waveforms, representing the R,Y and B phases
(from material presented in Course A10).
4. Generating six synchronizing signals (one for each transistor in the bridge).
5. Generating the decoded output for each transistor in the inverter bridge for forward
and reverse phase.
